Driver strikes pedestrian and flees in Clermont County

STONELICK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Authorities are searching to the driver of a vehicle that struck a 24-year-old man and fled the scene early Friday.

Rescue crews found George R. Newman, 24, of Bethel, in the 4900 block of Benton Road north of U.S. 50 just before 2 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

He was taken to Bethesda North Hospital and is expected to recover.

The striking vehicle, which was southbound on Benton Road, took off. A description was not available.
