Six people injured in head-on accident on US 52 south of Brookville, Ind

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - Three medical helicopters responded to a head-on accident on US 52 in Franklin County Friday.

AirCare was dispatched to US 52 just two miles south of Brookville, Ind just before 4 p.m. for the head-on accident.

Officials say one car going northbound crossed the center lane and struck a vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old girl with three other passengers.

According to police, the car going northbound had two people inside. Both of them were taken by AirCare to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released at this time.

Officials say the vehicle with the 16-year-old girl and her three passengers were taken by ground ambulance to the hospital. The extent of those injuries has not been released.

US 52 south of Brookville was closed for about two hours, but has since reopened. 

FOX19 NOW will update this story when more information is released.
