FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

More than two weeks after a 20-year-old Middletown woman's body was found in Fairfield by park rangers, police have issued an arrest warrant for De'Asia Sims' murder.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for Juwan Hawkins, 19, in connection to her murder. Police say Hawkins and Sims were involved in a personal relationship.

Sims' body was found on Dec. 14 around 9:40 p.m. near an entrance to the Bolton Water Works Plant off Lick Road. The next day, the coroner ruled her death a homicide.

Her mother, Seletta Wilson, reported her missing on Saturday after she left their home in Middletown and never returned.

Sims' car was found by a Hamilton County sheriff's deputy on Friday, according to police records. Her personal belongings were inside the car when it was found.

Wilson told FOX19 NOW her daughter graduated from Middletown High School and was attending Butler Tech where she was studying to become a dental assistant.

"She was not a bad girl, did not deserve this, never got in trouble, nothing," she said. "And she graduated from school and was in college, just a beautiful girl."

Hawkins is currently in the Hamilton County jail facing theft charges unrelated to the case. According to court documents, he was arrested on Dec. 19 after he failed to return his electronic monitoring device, valued at $1,913.

Fairfield police say he will be arrested and arraigned on the murder charge when he is released from Hamilton County.
