67-year-old Duck Hunter rescued from Little Miami river

A 67-year-old man was rescued from the Little Miami River Tuesday night.

According to Cincinnati Fire Department, the unidentified man was duck hunting when he slipped trying to retrieve a downed duck. The man went down the steep embankment, into the water. Officials say due to his water-logged clothing, and his position in the water he could not get himself out of the river.

A fellow hunter called 911.

A joint effort between Cincinnati Fire and Anderson Township Fire was successful in pulling the victim to safety.

The victim was cold, but alert and oriented at the time of the incident. He was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. No word on his current condition.
