MT. AIRY, OH (FOX19) -

A 15-year-old girl who was struck by a teen driver in October will be able to celebrate the New Year out of the hospital.

For the first time since being struck on Oct. 30, Kymani Sanders will be out of the hospital. Sanders is expected to attend a service at John 33 Ministries on Paddock Road with her family.

The Shroeder High School Student was struck in the 2400 block of West North Bend Road by a teen driver. Police say alcohol, drugs or speed were not a factor in the accident.

Kymani was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition. It took Sanders 12 days to open her eyes after the incident.

Sanders is expected to return to the hospital after the visit.
