WEST END, OH (FOX19) -

A search for the suspect in Cincinnati's first homicide of 2015 led to a SWAT standoff overnight.

Police responded after a 18-year-old man was shot several times inside a residence in the 400 block of Dayton Street just before 10 p.m., said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

The teen, identified by Cincinnati Police as Ricky Jones III, was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died.

Meanwhile, police were told the suspect was inside a Baymiller Street residence.

Officers responded, but a man inside refused to come out. A SWAT team was called, and the man surrendered without further incident about 1 a.m., Brown said. He was not armed with a weapon.

The man was described at the scene as a homicide suspect, but a few hours later Brown described him as a person of interest.

No charges have been filed and an investigation by the Homicide Unit is ongoing.

FOX19 NOW will continue to update this developing story.
