University of Cincinnati point guard Ge'Lawn Guyn will miss the remainder of the season and is eligible for a medical redshirt.
Guyn began the season as the starting point guard until succumbing to a right pinky injury after the second game. On Monday, UC announced that Guyn will have surgery on the finger. Guyn has missed the last 11 games for the Bearcats.
The NCAA requires all redshirt applicants to have played in less than 30-percent of his team's scheduled games for the season and the injury occurring in the first half of the season.
If granted, Guyn would have one year of eligibility left.
