Two high schools in the West Clermont school district will be merging in the coming years.
The Union Township Board of Trustees and West Clermont Local School District voted unanimously to merge Glen Este High School and Amelia High School.
One benefit that was discussed at the meeting, is the school district has the opportunity to build a new high school with no additional cost to taxpayers.
The new high school will be at the corner of Bach-Buxton Road and Clough Pike. The new campus is expected to be open in 2017.
The plan includes a 10-year facilities plan that would also see the merger of the middle schools.
