Police arrest suspect in connection with West Chester homicide

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

Police arrested the suspect wanted in connection to a West Chester homicide on Monday.

Morris Hodge Jr. was arrested Thursday without incident at an apartment off Mack Road in Fairfield at approximately 2 p.m., police said.

West Chester Police say that he will be taken to Butler County jail where he is being charged with murder.

Hodge was identified as a suspect in the homicide of Anthony Lamount Elliot.

Elliot was gunned down in the 5100 block of Aster Drive around 5 p.m. Monday evening. Hodge was seen running from the scene by witnesses. Police have not released a motive in the shooting, but police believe the shooting was not a random act.

According to West Chester Police Chief Joel Herzog, Monday's homicide was the first homicide since 2013.
