The man who fatally struck Lauren Pettit in Erlanger, KY last May is sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Lonnie Turner, 29, will serve his sentence as part of a manslaughter plea agreed on Tuesday.
Turner fatally struck Lauren Petit, 29, as she was walking on the side of the road in the 2800 block of Crescent Springs Pike in Erlanger. Turner initially fled the scene but later turned himself in.
Authorities believe drugs and alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
Petit's body was not found until 8:30 a.m. the next morning by Duke Energy crews.
