MADEIRA, OH (FOX19) - Two Colerain Township parents are accused of taking their newborn baby boy and 4-year-old daughter along in the getaway car during a nail salon hold-up.
Joseph Heidecker, 22, was arrested Tuesday and charged with the armed robbery last month at L&T Nails on Montgomery Road in Madeira.
According to court records, he entered the business about 7:40 p.m. Dec. 30 while wearing a mask and glasses. He displayed a handgun and demanded money from the owner at the desk.
Police say he fled out the back of the building and jumped into a waiting vehicle. Debbie Pham, 22, was behind the wheel and drove off, court record show.
She is the mother of his daughter and 3-month-old son, who also were in the car at the time of the offense, police said.
The couple remained at large until Heidecker was pulled over while driving a 2002 Nissan in Madeira about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was cited with driving on a suspended license and not wearing a seatbelt, records show.
Police said they linked the duo to the heist and charged Heidecker with aggravated robbery and two counts of child endangering.
Pham also faces two counts of child endangering and one count of complicity to aggravated robbery.
Both were held overnight at the Hamilton County jail. They are scheduled to face a judge at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
It was not immediately clear who is caring for their children.
