AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) -

A woman is dead and a man is under arrest after an overnight homicide in Avondale, Cincinnati police announced early Wednesday.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 4600 block of Reading Road just after midnight after receiving a report that a woman had been strangled to death, said Sgt. Joseph Briede of the Homicide Unit.

Police found the body of Tina Bond, 44, and the suspect, described as one of her friends, also inside the apartment.

Mark Chambers, 523, was taken into custody and charged with murder. He confessed to the crime, which was allegedly committed on Tuesday, police wrote in court records.

The two argued before Bond was strangled, Briede said.

He declined to say what sparked the dispute or to discuss other details of the case.
