Update: Pedestrian struck, killed in Fairfield

BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A woman has died after being struck Thursday night in Fairfield Township.

Officials say a man and woman were crossing the 5200 block of Dixie Highway around 8 p.m. when they were hit.

Danielle Halcomb, 38, of Fairfield, died at Mercy Hospital, officials announced on Friday.

A medical helicopter transported the 43-year-old man to University Hospital where is is reportedly in critical condition. His name has not been released.

Fairfield Patrol Supervisor Sgt. Don Garrett said the victims did not use the crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and has not been cited at this time, police said.

The identities of the victims and driver are being held until an investigation is complete.
