Union Twp. crash leaves thousands without power

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

Crews are repairing downed wires after a non-injury accident caused them to go down Thursday night in Union Township.

Union Township Police and Fire were dispatched to the 900 block of Ohio Pike at 5:39 p.m. for the accident.

Authorities say a man lost control of their vehicle and struck a pole and a van. 

Officials closed lanes of the 900 block of Ohio Pike to allow for crews to repair downed wires in the area.

Eastbound traffic is being re-routed to Glen Este-Withamsville Road.  Westbound traffic is being re-routed to McMann Road.

Police on scene say that the road could be closed all Thursday night as crews repair the lines.

Duke Energy reported that over 2,000 people were without power at one point. As of 9:47 p.m. power in the area had been restored by Duke Energy. 

No further information has been released.
