What you need to know NOW about the fatal overpass collapse

CAMP WASHINGTON, OH (FOX19) - FOX19 NOW has compiled the five facts you need to know NOW from the fatal overpass collapse on I-75 near Hopple Street.
  1. During preparation for the demolition of the old Hopple Street overpass, a major collapse occurred in a section of the overpass landing on southbound I-75.
  2. A construction worker was killed in the accident and a semi-driver suffered minor injuries. The semi-driver was transported to University of Center Medical Center.
  3. Southbound I-75 will be CLOSED indefinitely. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area. Commercial traffic must use I-275 and I-71. Other motorists are advised to use westbound I-74.
  4. Officials have begun the investigation and removal of the collapsed section.
  5. Witnesses claim the collapse caused their house to shake. One resident believed a car had crashed into her house.
