Put your face next to a great work of art in celebration of the second annual Museum Selfie Day.

#MuseumSelfie Day started last year as a move to encourage people to get out and visit museums. Thousands of photos later and it has become a social media phenomenon that's spreading across the globe.

Wednesday, Jan. 21 is a day to mix cultural institutions with social media, says Cincinnati Museum Center's Cody Hefner.

“Last year Cincinnati was well represented on Museum Selfie Day as Cincinnati Museum Center, the Art Museum and the Taft Museum all participated,” said Hefner.

Grab your smart phone, (and selfie stick, if you're a pro,) head to one of our local museums and help put Cincinnati on the social media map.

Share your photos with us! Post them to our Facebook or email

  • The Cincinnati Museum Center: Open until 5 p.m. Admission is from $8.50 - $19.50, but Hefner says people can simply take their selfie in front of the beautiful Union Terminal building or in the lobby.
  • The Cincinnati Art Museum: Open until 5 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Taft Museum: Open until 4 p.m. Admission is from $4 to $10.
