Former Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Tracie Hunter will receive a second trial on June 1, a judge ruled on Wednesday.

Hunter will be tried on the eight felony counts that were declared a mistrial last October. Those charges include theft in office and tampering with evidence.

Hunter's attorney Clyde Bennett requested Judge Dinkelacker recuse himself from the case. That motion was denied.

Bennett claimed Dinkelacker could have bias due to his position in the first circuit court of appeals.

Hunter was convicted last year of having an unlawful interest in a public contract and sentenced to six months in jail. The Ohio Supreme Court ruled she would not have to serve that sentence pending resolution of her appeal.
