A former New Miami High School teacher pleaded guilty to four charges after being accused of having sex with a student.

Justin Madden, 29, pleaded guilty to one count sexual battery, one count pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, one count obstructing justice and one count tampering with evidence.  He had previously been indicted on 11 charges on Jan. 21.

Madden is automatically labeled as a tier 3 sex predator and will have to register every 90 days for the rest of his life, according to officials.

He will be sentenced on April 16.

The victim is a former student of New Miami High School but since has been transferred.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones says that in September of last year, Madden was placed on administrative leave from his employment at the high school when allegations were made.

“We are absolutely not going to tolerate this horrific behavior. This guy was trusted to educate the youth of our community and obviously violated that. We will work with the prosecutor's office to ensure justice is served. It disgusts me that this guy was supposed to be looked at as a mentor and someone that kids could look up to. I don't get it, but I will fight to see that he gets what he deserves,” Sheriff Jones said.

Police haven't released the identity of the juvenile because of age.

"We had to cover every angle, teachers are around a lot of students and we had to make sure there weren't any more victims," Sgt. Ed Tanner said.
The case will remain under investigation.
