One person died in a crash in rural Butler County late Wednesday, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say it appears Ryan Kendrick, 24, lost control of a Volkswagen Jetta around 9 p.m. in the 2000 block of Ross Hanover Road in Hanover Township.

Kendrick struck a pole and guardrail before coming to a stop in an embankment, according to a release from the Butler County Sheriff's Office. He was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say that Kendrick was not wearing a seatbelt.
