Xavier falls to Providence in overtime

Xavier fell to one of the top teams in the Big East 69-66 in overtime Thursday night in Providence. 

The Musketeers came back from being 12 points down at halftime to the the game at 60 at the end of regulation.

Remy Abell had the opportunity to send it to a second overtime but turned the ball over ending the game.

Jalen Reynolds was the top Musketeer having 16 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block. 

Matt Stainbrook had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  

The Friars had two starters end the game with 20 points.

LaDontae Henton had 24 points and 10 rebounds.   Kris Dunn had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Providence.

The Musketeers remain winless on the road in conference.

Xavier drops to 12-7, 3-4 in the Big East. They host DePaul at noon on Saturday.
