The Xavier Musketeers weathered a DePaul three-point barrage in the first half and used a career-high scoring total from Myles Davis to beat the Blue Demons 89-76.

DePaul started the game red-hot. Powered by 11 three-pointers and a 20-6 run in the first 20 minutes, the Blue Demons led at the half 50-42.

The script was flipped in the second half. Xavier began the second frame on a 24-7 run. Unlike DePaul, the Muskies struggled from long distance all afternoon, only making three three-point attempts. The Musketeers feasted on running their offense through the post. Musketeers consistently found teammates slashing to the rim for easy lay-ups. Xavier shot a blistering 75 percent from two-point range in the contest.

Myles Davis scored a career-high 25 points, and Trevon Bluiett added 21.

“We woke up, plain and simple,” said Myles Davis on Xavier's second half. “They were outplaying us, playing much harder than us and it was about time we get it together, wake up and start playing Xavier basketball. We shouldn't have to wait a whole half to play our kind of basketball, but that's what happened and the good thing is we turned it around.”

Matt Stainbrook controlled the offense inside. The senior center totaled 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

DePaul was led by Tommy Hamilton IV. The sophomore scored 17 points and added six rebounds.

Up next for the Musketeers (13-7, 4-4) is a trip to Washington, D.C. to take on the Georgetown Hoyas Tuesday at 7 p.m.
