CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati police closed the Lytle Tunnel on northbound Interstate 71 for nearly three hours overnight to investigate a report of shots fired.

Officers found shell casings when they responded to a 2:35 a.m. report of gunfire in the area, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

No injuries were reported.

It's not clear what led up to the incident, or if someone was firing a weapon from inside a vehicle on the highway or from land nearby, Brown said.

Police are reviewing state traffic camera footage in the area.
