WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

A 17-year-old boy walked more than a mile home after he was shot in a street robbery late Tuesday, Cincinnati police said.

The teen told investigators he exited a bus at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Fischer Place about 10:30 p.m. and was approached by two men who stole his cell phone and shot him in the left leg, said Lt. Tim Brown, the night chief.

The victim said he walked home about 1.5 miles and was taken in a private vehicle by relatives to Mercy Hospital West.

He is expected to recover.

Police hope to learn more about the incident as they continue to investigate, Brown said.
