MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Police said an officer on routine patrol found a woman staggering in the middle of a road and narrowly missed striking her with his cruiser.

The incident was caught on dash cam video and uploaded to Miami Township Police department's Facebook with the reminder “When drinking, please call for a ride.”

It happened on Jan. 15 near The Main Event, a reception hall in Milford on Route 50. In the 911 call, a bar worker says a woman was drunk and causing problems for workers.

“We escorted her out of the building. But, while she was in the building she urinated on several of my paper towels and toilet paper. She broke pictures. We literally had to pick her up and escort her out of the building,” said that caller.

The officer was driving on Route 50 towards Owensville in response to an intoxicated person call, an official with the department said.

Walking in the middle of the road, the woman comes into view just feet away from the cruiser's hood as the officer drives under an I-275 overpass.

“Thankfully the Miami Township Officer was alert, saving the young lady from certain serious injury or death. Nice Job Officer Thompson!” the Facebook posts reads.
