CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Troy Caupain recorded a career high 20 points en route to a Bearcats 70-58 victory against the 2014 defending national champions UCONN (11-8, 4-3 American).

Caupain was the top performer for the Bearcats recording 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

Gary Clark recorded a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Jermaine Sanders was the only other Bearcat with a double digits performance with 10 points.

“I felt like I had to rebound the ball better than I did the first game. I felt like I let my team down the first time at UConn. I'm expected to do what I did tonight,” Clark said.

UCONN's Ryan Boatright led the Huskies with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals.

“Playing against Boatright and having a wonderful game has been running through my mind since practice, and I wanted to get this [win]. This was personal. It's a game I'll never forget,” Caupain said.

The Bearcats held Boatright to 0-for-6 from the field in the first half and forced the Huskies to 13 turnovers.

“You never lose at home. If you win games at home, you've got a chance to win the conference,” Caupain said.

UC moves to 15-5, 6-2 in the American Conference. The Bearcats will play at East Carolina Sunday at 1 p.m.
