Keeping bullies at bay

How would parents know their kid is being bullied at school?

A local program teaches parents and students how to recognize bullies and avoid becoming a victim of their bad behavior.

PRO Martial Arts offers a program that teaches students non-violent ways to stay safe from bullying. Check out their guidelines and tips:

  • Carry oneself with confidence
  • Set and respect personal boundaries
  • Stay calm
  • Be assertive when seeking help

The characteristics of a bully:

  • Increasingly aggressive personality
  • Blames other for their problems
  • Does not accept responsibility for their actions
  • Are competitive and worry about reputation

Characteristic that your child is being bullied

  • Declining grades and loss of interest in schoolwork
  • Sudden loss of friends or avoidance in social situations
  • Changes in eating habits, skipping meals or binge eating
  • Decreased self-esteem

Pro Martial Arts says their ARMOR program offers life skills to students with a predator prevention curriculum designed to keep kids safe in the real world and online.
