CVG still ranks first for highest airfare

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport may have new low-cost carriers, but it still ranks number one when it comes to most expensive airport in the nation.

The average cost to fly out it here is $533, the latest federal statistics show.

Travelers have known this for years and drive to airports in nearby cities such as Dayton. But lately, flights out of Dayton International Airport aren't so cheap.

The Bureau of Transportation just released their third quarter numbers, which listed Dayton's airport as the second highest increase in the country. It went up almost ten percent.  The average price now to fly out of Dayton is $434 .

Louisville also went up a bit with an average flight cost of $422 dollars.

The cheapest way to fly out of our area, according to this study, is Indianapolis. It actually went down in turns of cost with an average flight to a cost of $417.
