A family whose twins need life-saving surgeries is turning to social media for help in a heartbreaking dilemma.

The Wagner family, who live in Canada, adopted Binh and Phuoc from Vietnam two years ago. The girls suffer from a genetic disorder called Alagille syndrome, which affects their organs.

The 3-year-old twins need liver transplants and fortunately their father is a donor match – but he can only save one of his daughters.

“We are faced with a potentially life-saving operation for one of our girls, but this leaves us wondering about the other,” the couple wrote on their fundraising page.

Word spread thanks to the Wagner's blog and Facebook page and they've since received applications from hundreds of potential donors.

“This is incredible! And for so many reasons: people are reaching out to my little girls. Also, Alagille syndrome is getting media attention and getting more known,” their mother, Johanne, wrote on the blog.

Dad will undergo donor surgery in a couple weeks as they await Toronto General Hospital's reviews of the donor applications.
