SILVERTON, OH (FOX19) - Bond was set at $150,000 cash Monday for a man arrested after two women were stabbed in Silverton over the weekend.

Steven Grove, 52, burst out more than once during a brief morning court appearance, angrily insisting he was innocent.

I didn't stab nobody, I didn't do sh--!" he yelled as soon as he faced Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Melissa Powers.

The judge immediately warned him to stop or she would hold him in contempt.

Jail workers also reported having difficulty booking Grove into the facility, a process that took at least two attempts when he became unruly shortly after arriving at the jail Sunday.

Social media helped authorities arrest Grove after two female stabbing victims were found in the  6900 block of Plainfield Road around 1:30 a.m.

A motive in the attack remains unclear, and Grove has only been charged so far with aggravated menacing after authorities say he advanced toward a law enforcement officer while armed with a knife.

He not been charged with attacking the women, although an investigation remains ongoing and authorities consider him a person of interest.

Kelly Easton, 38, suffered several lacerations to her forehead. The second victim, Jodi Stanton, suffered multiple stab wounds in her back. Both were transported to area hospitals and are expected to recover.

With the help of citizens and through an investigation, deputies identified Grove as a person they wanted to question in connection with the attacks.

At 1:05 p.m., deputies received a report of a suspicious man in the area of the 700 block of East Lane.  Based on the description of the man, deputies attempted to make contact with Grove at his residence.

He exited his front door armed with a knife and advanced toward deputies.  He refused repeated commands to drop his weapon, so they shocked him by firing a Taser stun gun.

Grove dropped his weapon and was arrested without further incident.

"It was just very bizarre that something like that would happen. It was just a random guy walking down the street that decided that he would pick on these girls,” said Joshua Baughan, owner of MVP Bar and Grill.

Baughan says his two friends had just left his bar late Saturday night. As the two women made their way to their car parked just across the street from the police station, they were attacked and stabbed.

"They came back into MVP and then that's when my staff called the police and got them some help,” Baughan said.

With the suspect still on the loose, Baughan posted what happened on Facebook and within hours, a friend recognized the description as his neighbor.

"A friend of mine saw it on there and recognized the description and called me and then we got in touch with the police and the police went over to interview the suspect,” said Baughan.
