Authorities identify man who died after falling off cliff at Red River Gorge

POWELL COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Authorities identified the Cincinnati man who died after falling off a cliff at Red River Gorge.

The Wolfe County Search and Rescue team say they received a call around midnight that a camper had fallen from Chimney Top Rock.  

Jason Lazor, 36, fell 200 feet to his death, police said. 

Wolf County, Powell County and Menifee Counties all responded to the incident.  Officials say it took until 6 a.m. Saturday to retrieve the body due to frozen ground.

Lazor worked as a Senior Marketing Manager for Kroger.

"The entire Kroger family is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Jason Lazor," a statement by Kroger read. "He was a well-respected colleague and a friend to countless associates. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason's family, friend and colleagues.

No information has been given on what caused the accident.
