LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) -
A Facebook post helped lead to the arrest of man who police say committed at least two liquor store robberies.
According to investigators, Marcus Zanders posted a video of large amounts of cash and a bottle of tequila that had been robbed from the Dillsboro's J&J Liquor Store just a few hours before on his Facebook page.
Officials say the liquor store was robbed at gunpoint last Friday night around 9:30. Zanders allegedly pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded the money. Witnesses of the incident said the suspect fled in a red Pontiac.
A police investigation led to the identification of Zanders. Investigators say while they looked at Zanders' Facebook page, they came across the incriminating video.
Officials arrested Zanders after locating him driving the red Pontiac at a location in Cincinnati.
"This case is the perfect example of cooperation among multiple agencies, across state lines, working together to conclude an investigation of violent crimes," said the Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard.
Zanders has been charged with 'Robbery with a Deadly Weapon,' a level 3 felony, in connection to the J&J Liquor Store robbery. Negangard said additional charges in relation to the Whitey's Liquor Store robbery will be forthcoming.
