FOX19 - New details emerged this week in the fatal hotel stabbing of a lawyer from Anderson Township.

David Messerschmitt's body was found at The Donovan Hotel around 11 a.m. on Feb. 10.

According to a search warrant, Messerschmitt was stabbed several times in the back and was found face down on the floor.

Documents show a wallet was left near his body with credit cards strewn about.  Additional credit cards and identifying documents were located throughout the room.

Police seized a computer, lubricant, condoms, cell phone, an enema and other items found in the hotel room, according to a search warrant.

Messerschmitt attended Anderson High School and Ohio State University. Myfoxdc.com says the 30-year-old was a lawyer for DLA Piper, a firm in D.C.

He was reported missing by family members one day before he was found, reports say.

Surveillance footage from inside The Donovan Hotel show a possible suspect in a hooded jacket around 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Police released the images in the hopes that someone will come forward and identify the person of interest.

"We are deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of David, our beloved husband, son and brother," said Gary Meltz, a family spokesman. "We ask that everyone respect our privacy. We have no further comments at this time."

Messerschmitt lived with his wife in an apartment on Capitol Hill, according to reports.

A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church.
