Pedestrian struck and killed in Florence

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

A pedestrian was struck and killed in the 4900 block of Houston Road late Wednesday, Florence police said.

The man was crossing Houston Road from west to east outside the crosswalk and about 20 yards from Ted Bushelman Boulevard when he was hit by a northbound silver, 2004 Jeep Wrangler about 10 p.m., said Captain Tom Grau, Florence police spokesman.

He was taken to St. Elizabeth Florence. His name was not released.

The driver, Christopher Courtade of Independence, was not arrested. Foul play is not suspected.

This is the second pedestrian struck in Florence in as many weeks.
