1 dead, 3 injured in Butler Co. accident

BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

CareFlight was requested for a fatal accident with entrapment in Butler County Friday afternoon.

Dispatch says the three vehicle accident happened at around 2:47 p.m. on Jacksonburg Road at State Route 73 in Wayne Township.

According to officials, a preliminary investigation indicates a dump truck was traveling westbound on SR 73 when he struck a vehicle traveling southbound on Jacksonburg Road.  The dump truck then traveled left of center striking another vehicle traveling eastbound on SR 73.

Officials confirmed that the southbound vehicle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, their passenger was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by helicopter. The eastbound driver and the driver of the dump truck were transported to Atrium Hospital by squad. Their condition is unknown at this time.

The Butler County Coroner responded to the scene.

According to the Butler County Coroner, the victim that died has been identified as Kathleen Washabaugh, 34, of Dayton. She was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. Saturday. The coroner ruled that Washabaugh died of internal injuries and ruled that death as accidental. 

The accident is under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Office S.T.A.R.T. Unit.
