Major commercial development taking shape in Liberty Township

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A new $350 million shopping, office, dining and residential complex is taking shape in this southeastern Butler County community.

Construction is underway at Liberty Center on the northwest corner of the Interstate 75 and Liberty Way interchange. The complex is set to open in fall 2015.

Several major tenants already have announced including Brio Tuscan Grille, Cheesecake Factory, Kona Grill, Pies & Pints, Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard's department store, and AC Hotels by Marriott.

Developers say the Marriott hotel, and Dillard's are well under construction, along with office building project on site.

Up to $43 million in taxpayer-backed funding was committed to the project including $31 million worth of publicly-backed bonds.

Liberty Center's first phase consists of 69 acres.
