Police: Alcohol may have contributed to fatal Bracken County accident

BRACKEN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Kentucky State Police are investigating a single vehicle fatal accident that occurred Monday evening in Bracken County.

Police say that Jennifer Chaney, 47, of Brooksville, was traveling southbound on KY-1159, Bladeston Road, when she lost control of her 2005 Saturn Relay van.  She overcorrected from the right shoulder of the road which resulted in the vehicle leaving the roadway on the left side and striking a tree.

According to Kentucky State Police, Chaney was pronounced dead on the scene by the Bracken County Coroner.

She was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash and alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the accident, police said.

The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Charles Wagner.
