GREENSBURG, IN (FOX19) - The results of an Indiana State Police audit of the Greensburg Police Department's evidence led to the arrest of a former police chief Tuesday.

Police say an investigation of the Greensburg Police evidence records was requested in December of last year regarding missing evidence (US Currency).  The ISP laboratory conducted an audit of the property room in January and discovered several discrepancies involving evidence.

Stacey L Chasteen, 49, of Seymour turned herself into ISP Detectives Tracy Rohlfing and Pete Tressler at the Decatur County Jail around 10 a.m., police said.

According to ISP Investigator Rohlfing, the Decatur County Prosecutor filed one count of theft and one count of official misconduct against Chasteen as a result of an extensive investigation of the Greensburg Police Department's evidence records during her term there as chief and her tenure as the department's property officer.
