WEST PRICE HILL (FOX19) -

A space heater sparked a house fire that killed a pet dog and displaced two families early Wednesday, Cincinnati fire crews said.

No one was hurt when flames broke out inside the two-family residence on Rutledge Avenue off Glenway Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.

But a firefighter was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for a possible medical condition. The firefighter is listed in stable condition.

Damage was set at $50,000.

The American Red Cross was called to help the five displaced residents find temporary lodging, food and clothes. At least one of the families includes an infant and 13-year-old child.
