CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Despite the freezing temperatures, work on General Electric's U.S. Global Operations Center at The Banks is well underway.

The $90 million dollar building is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2016.

Construction crews just finished pouring the concrete for the 6th floor. Once complete the building will be 12 stories. There are still seven more floors of concrete slabs to be placed before the building is topped.

While most of the work is only visible from the outside, design is currently underway for the interior of the GE office spaces.

The more than 338,000-square foot building will change the landscape of Cincinnati's riverfront.

Developers at The Banks called it a “game changer”. They said the office component is going to be a critical driver in getting more people to The Banks during the daytime.

It is the first project in Phase 2, which is the west side of the development. Phase 2 also includes 300 new apartments and 19,000 square feet of retail space.
