ST. BERNARD, OH (FOX19) -

Fire ripped through a condominium early Monday, temporarily throwing about a dozen residents out into the cold.

No one was hurt when flames broke out in the living room of a unit at Alpine Terrace Condominiums on Chalet Drive about 1:30 a.m., fire officials said.

Heavy smoke filled the building, requiring fire officials to evacuate about 12 units.

Crews managed to quickly knock down the bulk of the blaze.

All residents except the ones occupying the condo that caught on fire were permitted back inside.

The cause remains under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
