All that snow and extreme cold over the past week is slowing progress of Cincinnati's streetcar project.
The intersection of Fifth and Walnut was closed this weekend because of all the snow, and now it's going to be closed next weekend as well.
Track work was supposed to occur over the weekend, but the weather postponed it. Now the intersection will shut down 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, March 2.
Fifth Street will be closed at Vine Street. Eastbound traffic on Fifth Street will be detoured north at Vine Street.
The weather also has extended an eastbound Court Street closure between Walnut and Main streets until March 2.Eastbound Court Street will remain closed this week between Walnut and Main Streets this week so crews can install electrical conduit to power the streetcar.
Court will reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, March 2.
Main Street will remain open but will have lane restrictions between Ninth and East Court streets. Motorists traveling on Walnut will be detoured east on Seventh Street and north on Main.
Pedestrian access on the south side of East Court will be maintained, as well as all crosswalks. On-street parking will be prohibited during the closure.
