It may be too cold to enjoy most outdoor recreation spots now, but Smale Riverfront Park is undergoing renovations that will make it one of the city's busiest destinations.

Construction on improvements is nearly complete - and the timing couldn't be better. Most of the openings will coincide with upcoming baseball season and All-Star Game.

Smale, which stretches between Great American and Paul Brown, is undergoing a $120 million renovation, $45 million of which is from private donations.

Park officials say the 40 acre-park is not only a recreational, social and health resource, but it is also going to be a powerful economic engine that will drive visitors Downtown.
