Cincinnati racetrack reopens as Ohio River begins to drop

A Cincinnati horse racing track reopened today as the Ohio River leveled off after rains have made it run high for the past week and a half.

The River Downs racetrack reopened for simulcast racing from other tracks. River Downs had been closed since January eighth because of high water from the Ohio. Forecasters say the Ohio is peaking today at slightly more than a foot over the 52-foot flood stage in Cincinnati. They predict it will drop under flood stage on Wednesday.
