FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) -

Christ Hospital recently acquired more land as they build a 75,000-square-foot medical office building on the former Drawbridge Inn property.

The hospital will occupy the main portion of the Ft. Mitchell Gateway development. Officials spent $8.7 million for 15 additional acres but won't reveal specifics about what kind of medical offices will emerge, other than to say it will offer a mix of services.

Design planning on the building is underway. The concept for the plan was just presented to the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority, which just approved the tax increment financing application.

The new facility will offer more healthcare services and patient choice in Northern Kentucky.

The development will include retail on the first floor and luxury apartments on the second floor.

On its website, Real Estate developer BrandiCorp, says the site will also offer hotel uses. Ft. Mitchell leaders say with over 150,000 vehicles passing daily, they believe this development will be a success.

Initial construction is expected to begin in the fall of this year.
