Recipe: Garlic shrimp from The Glendalia

Savor the spicy delight of garlic shrimp at home by making this recipe from Chef Rachel Kramer at The Glendalia Boutique Hotel & Culinary Studio in Glendale.

Ingredients:

1 chili pepper

3.5 fl oz oil

9 oz peeled shrimp

3 cloves garlic

Rings of chili pepper

Salt

Pepper

Preparation:

Soak the chili pepper in water to prevent it from breaking and then cut it into rings. 

Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the sliced garlic and chili pepper. 

Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and fry for one minute. 

As soon as the shrimp start to become opaque, cover the dish to prevent the oil from splashing or getting cold and serve. 

This dish can either be served as a starter or with pasta cooked al dente, fried chickpeas, or white rice. The other ingredient should always be stirred into the hot oil used for cooking the shrimp.
