An international dating site has kicked off more than 3,000 members for not maintaining their looks.
The co-owner of beautifulpeople.com, Greg Hodge, said in an interview with nydailynews.com that the reasons for the immediate removal of the members were weight gain and 'graceless aging'.
"Letting unattractive people populate the site would compromise the very concept for which beautifulpeople.com was founded," Hodge said in an interview with the New York Daily News.
The free website said the service is used to "meet real beautiful people who actually look in real life as they do online."
Potential members of the site can only be accepted if the good-looking members vote them in based on appearance and a profile.
"We take no pleasure in removing members," Genevieve Hodge, co-owner and wife of Greg Hodge, said to the New York Daily News. "It is a necessary evil in order to maintain the beautiful community and our prized business model."
The website has reportedly offered free mentoring from beauty experts for members who wish to be reinstated.
