UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) - Residents can voice suggestions to improve police/community relations Monday in a public form at the University of Cincinnati.

The Ohio Task Force on Community-Police Relations is holding a 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. meeting at Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center Ballroom, 151 Goodman Dr.

Gov. John Kasich appointed the task force that includes State Rep. Alicia Reece (R-Cincinnati) last year after a series of controversial police-involved deaths of suspects nationwide and here in Ohio.

The group is holding forums around the state to gather input and develop possible solutions from citizens on improving police/community relations. This is the fourth session at UC.

Cincinnati civil rights expert and attorney Alphonse Gerhardstein and Assistant Cincinnati Police Chief David Bailey are expected to speak about their involvement in the Cincinnati Collaborative Agreement, which repeatedly has been cited as a national model for police reform.

"Cincinnati has been a model of successfully repairing community-police relations with the collaborative agreement," said Cincinnati City Councilwoman Amy Murray, the municipal representative on the task force. "This accomplishment is something we can contribute to the task force and share with the rest of the state. I hope that citizens and leaders in the community attend and share their stories and advice with the panel."

Those who are unable to attend Monday's session can still weigh in by submitting written testimony to the task force's website at http://www.ocjs.ohio.gov/otfcpr/ or speak out on social media using the hashtag #beheardohio.

The panel will meet to create a final report due to Kasich by April 30.
