Lauren Hill remains positive and has not lost her sense of humor as her condition worsens, her mother posted to Facebook this week.

"Braided Lauren's hair today and added a splash of color (MSJ colors) because she was feeling sassy," she wrote Sunday. "We spent most of our day listening to music and doing art projects. Lauren sleeps about 12 hours a day and still does not like to take naps. Her appetite is not as big as it use to be. She has been having increased issues with swallowing."

Her family is helping her by adding thickener to her water  and cutting her food into bite-sized pieces to prevent choking.

"Lauren had her pain pump increased again to help with pesty headaches and body aches," her mother wrote.

The 19-year-old former Mount St. Joseph University basketball player's battle with a rare, terminal brain cancer nationally grabbed national and local headlines and hearts. She made five layups in four games last season before she became an honorary coach.

She has raised more than $1.4 million for pediatric cancer research through The Cure Starts Now Foundation.

"Lauren has been super excited about the trading cards and shows it off when the opportunity presents itself. She still has a sense of humor even if her legs give out and she falls. My favorite quote of the week.... "I didn't fall, I gracefully assaulted the floor." Got to love her."

Hill's cards, designed by Upper Deck, are a special "Heroic Inspirations" rookie card in honor of her. All proceeds go toward the foundation.

Upper Deck also designed a special Heroic Inspirations rookie card in honor of Lauren Hill with all proceeds going towards “The Cure Starts Now.”
