KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

AirCare was dispatched to an accident involving a semi in Kenton County Wednesday afternoon.

Kenton County Dispatch says they responded to an injury accident on northbound Interstate 75 between Crittenden and Walton at around 12:12 p.m.  

According to officials, the initial investigation indicates a silver Toyota Tundra struck the rear of a Schneider Freightliner tractor trailer.  The initial collision left the silver Tundra disabled in the center lane. A second tractor trailer drove off the right side of the interstate to avoiding the initial collision. A maroon Tundra struck the disabled silver Tundra.

Officials say the driver of the maroon Tundra was 43-year-old Jonathan Traft, of Union, Ky. He was transported to University Hospital by AirCare with head, neck and chest injuries.  The driver of the silver Tundra was 43-year-old Raymond Townsend, of Florence, Ky. He was transported to St. Elizabeth by Walton squad with head, back and leg injuries. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

The driver of the tractor trailer was identified as 65-year-old Robert Fields of Evergreen, AL.

Boone County officials provided mutual aid in the accident.
