Four in custody after SWAT standoff in OTR

OVER-THE-RHINE (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Police have four individuals in custody after a SWAT standoff in Over-the-Rhine Wednesday afternoon.

The incident began after reports of shots fired in the area. Police said responding officers saw the suspect, 19-year-old Brendan Johnson, with a weapon and a foot pursuit began. Police followed the suspect into an apartment building on Vine St. 

Officials said SWAT was called to the scene after the suspect locked himself into an apartment.

After negotiations, the individuals in the apartment (including the gunman) came out voluntarily according to District 1 Captain Michael John.

John said that a 13-year-old was in the apartment prior to the pursuit of the gunman.

No one was injured in the incident.

Johnson was charged with having a weapon under disability and obstructing official business. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
